Privacy Policy

How we collect, use, and protect your information.

Last updated: July 6, 2026

Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly (name, contact details, account credentials, case-related answers and documents); payment information (processed by our payment provider, which handles your card details, so we do not store full card numbers); and information collected automatically (device, browser, IP address, and usage analytics). Some of this is sensitive information you provide for your case, such as financial disclosures and the government identification needed to prepare and file your documents.

How We Use It

We use your information to provide the document-preparation service, communicate with you and send service and transactional messages (including retention and download reminders), process payments, facilitate document exchange between the parties in your case, provide customer support, maintain security and prevent fraud, improve the product, and comply with legal, tax, and court obligations. We do not sell your personal information or use your case content for advertising.

Sharing

We share information with service providers (hosting, payments, analytics, email), with courts or counterparties as you direct, and where required by law. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. A current list of the service providers (subprocessors) we use to run the service is available on request at privacy@thequickdivorce.com.

Cookies & Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies for authentication, preferences, and analytics. We use three categories: strictly necessary (required for login, security, and core functionality), analytics (to understand usage and improve the service), and marketing (to measure campaigns, used only where you consent). You can control non-essential cookies through your browser settings or any cookie banner we present.

Your Rights (CCPA/CPRA, GDPR, Florida FDBR)

Depending on your jurisdiction you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict processing of your personal data, opt out of sale/sharing or targeted advertising, and appeal denials. California (CCPA/CPRA), EEA/UK (GDPR), and Florida residents (FDBR), submit requests via the contact below. To protect your data we verify your identity before acting on a request, usually by confirming control of the email address on file, and we respond within the time required by applicable law (generally 45 days, extendable where permitted). If we deny your request, you may appeal by emailing privacy@thequickdivorce.com with "Appeal" in the subject line.

Data Retention

We store the documents in your case (uploaded files and generated court forms) only while your case is active. When your case closes, whether completed or inactive, you have 30 days to download your complete packet, after which we permanently delete those documents, except copies our filing team needs to complete your court filing, which are disposed of when no longer needed. We keep a permanent activity ledger recording which documents were created, uploaded, exchanged, and downloaded, and when, but never their contents. Account, billing, and other records are retained as needed to provide the service and to meet legal, tax, and dispute-resolution obligations.

Children's Privacy

The service is intended for adults age 18+. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or 16 in applicable jurisdictions).
